Historical Pedigree: Elel Spruce

Born in 1948, Spruce was bred by Mrs. Lambert and owned by Waveney Valley Kennels. He was most likely the most influential sire of Norfolks through the mid 1960's. The sire of 4 champions, he had two littermates but no full siblings. There were 73 half siblings on his sire's side but no half siblings on his dam's side. He produced 42 litters for a prolific 105 get. Of the 42 litters he was bred six times to Penne of Waveney Valley, four times to Tanner of Waveney Valley and five times to Reddy of Waveney Valley. He sired another influential Norfolk, Waveney Valley Alder. Spruce was considered a compact extrovert and was the most dominant sire of the 50's and carried the black and tan gene.
